As a Southern California native, Dr. Vidhi Patel graduated from the University of California,
Irvine with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences, minoring in Public Health.
During her undergraduate years, she had the opportunity to join medical missions to Africa to
bring healthcare to much needed areas. After volunteering In the Emergency and Operating
rooms at her local hospital for several years, she finally decided to pursue a career in medicine.
During the completion of her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine Degree at Western University of
Health Sciences in Pomona, California, she worked with a variety of medical specialties which
allowed her to approach medicine and health care from a global perspective. Her
interdisciplinary medical education allowed her to treat patients as a whole.
Dr. Patel was accepted as a podiatric surgical resident at the HCA Houston Healthcare West
Hospital in Houston, Texas.  During her 3-year residency she trained in over two dozen hospitals,
surgery centers and clinics performing surgery, managing inpatients, and treating outpatients. Her
experience and training allowed her to hone her skills as a foot and ankle specialist and surgeon.
She now lives in Southern California and practices podiatric medicine and surgery at Empire
Foot and Ankle Center.  There, she provides comprehensive conservative and surgical care for a
wide array of conditions that affect people from all walks of life.
