Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is an injection consisting of a patient’s own platelets to accelerate the healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints. As a result, PRP injections use the patient’s own healing system to treat musculoskeletal pathologies.

PRP injections are prepared by running patient’s own blood through a special centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. These activated platelets are then injected directly into the patient’s injured tissue. This releases growth factors that stimulate and increase the number of reparative cells your body produces. We also use Ultrasound imaging if needed to guide this kind of injection.
